Bolivar Generales Edicion Regional Benelux Cuban Cigars: Authenticity Guaranteed

The highly anticipated Bolivar Generales Edicion Regional Benelux Cuban cigars have officially arrived for collectors. This exclusive release represents the pinnacle of premium regional tobacco, serving as a landmark edition for the Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg markets. Experienced aficionados will immediately recognize the deep complexity that defines this historic brand. If you are looking to secure a box, these limited-production items represent a phenomenal investment for your long-term collection.

What Makes This Cigar Special

This release marks a bittersweet milestone for the Belux region. Due to upcoming plain packaging regulations, this is widely expected to be the final traditional regional edition to feature the iconic, colorful Cuban bands. Additionally, the production honors the 60th anniversary of Laguito 1492 N.V., the legendary distribution company that imports and sells Cuban cigars to the Benelux region and The Netherlands. The company started in 1965 as Robert Suter S.A., became Cubacigar Benelux N.V. in 2006, and was re-christened Laguito 1492 N.V. in 2021 to pay homage to Cohiba's mother factory.

Construction and Appearance

The cigar utilizes the elegant Generales vitola, which presents a stately shape measuring 6 1/2 inches by a 52 ring gauge. It closely mirrors the classic tapered blueprint of a Montecristo No. 2. The wrapper shows a rich, oily sheen with impeccable veins and seamless rolling. The presentation features three distinct bands, including the primary Bolivar band, the silver-and-burgundy regional band displaying the 60th anniversary logo, and a custom gold foot band that proudly depicts the official distributor logo. Only 10,000 numbered boxes are being released globally.

Aroma, Draw and Burn

Before lighting, the foot offers a rich aroma of barnyard, dark cocoa, and sweet cedar. The cold draw provides the perfect amount of resistance through the tapered head. Once lit, the burn line stays exceptionally straight, producing a dense, creamy smoke texture.

Flavour and Tasting Experience

The flavor profile begins with a surprisingly refined sweetness in the first third, showing notes of toasted cedar, light cream, and soft baking spices. By the second third, the signature full-bodied power awakens with heavy tones of rich leather, deep earth, and black pepper. The final third culminates in a robust, old-school finish with lingering notes of espresso and dark tobacco.
